What a tremendous month. I have been so busy having fun with the family. Vicki, Katherine, Ben, and Spencer were able to spend 2 weeks here in Utah. They enjoyed the cooler weather (by Las Vegas standards). The Family (including Vicki Thorpe and kids) hiked to Timpanogos Cave. I stayed behind and prepared food. That was a much easier task.
We began the month activities by going to This is the Place Park. We were going to Lagoon; however, the weather report said possible storms. We made a good choice as it was cold and damp. This was OK for the Park, but it would have made for a miserable day at Lagoon.

We had a late afternoon lunch (with fresh corn on the cob and fresh Salsa). Vicki and I then left the kids with the Buehners and went out to Lori Griffin's for Cami's Baby Shower. It was so good to see Jill's family all together. Heidi was here to bring her son to B.Y.U. The Buehners took the kids with them to Bountiful, and at 9:30 we picked them up. By the time we reached home in Lindon it had been a very long day. No one was complaining, although Vicki had to do the driving.

We had a family dinner and get together so that the rest of the family could spend some time with their cousins. Rachel brought her new boy-friend, Michael. They are considering a November wedding.
Katherine has stayed with me as she was working at B.Y.U. full-time until school started. The other Welches returned to Henderson, and two days later Kevin and Deborah arrived for a visit.

Hi, GRANDPA Kevin.
What a wonderful month of August. It is now September and all have departed. The house is so quiet. I can now get back to finishing the long-delayed bedroom. My favorite "Tuesday Morning" had a sale on bathroom light fixtures and towel bars. They will match the oiled bronze of the headboard on the bed. I was also able to pick up a couple of items
at Dillards on their 70% off plus 40% off sale. I told the clerk that meant that Dillards owed me 10% :) I hope I can soon send pics of the finished project.
Kevin, Deborah, Katherine, Tegan and I went over to Riverwoods to shop the shops at Riverwoods. It was nearly closing time, but we did enjoy the charm and ambiance.

Enjoy the video clip. I was bouncing as much as the tube and had a very difficult time keeping the tube in the view finder!
